As far as twin stick shooters go, it's well worth $15 imo, as it's a game that changes drastically as you unlock things and has several hard modes that grow organically as you get better at the game. I believe it's the playstation plus game of the month so you should definitely check it out if you have that option. It's a very good looking game (I'm choosing to run it without the smoothing filter) and the new light sources (fires, boss shots) look fantastic although I'm worried it won't run as nicely on my laptop.
If you're new to Isaac, I think this version is even weirder and more impenetrable, and the difficulty seems to ramp up even faster. There are a lot of new features, including controller support (although I think the keyboard is clearly still the best way to control things by a wide margin).
